i posted on monday prior to my first day on tuesday asking for advice, so i thought i would give an update. tuesday i subbed all day for 3rd grade and it was kind of chaotic but i had a lot of fun! we had inside recess and the kids made me drawings and gifts which was so so sweet, i will never forget it. wednesday i was at a different school but subbed 3rd grade again, i could tell this school was a lot more put together and to me it seemed that the kids were more advanced, this shift went even smoother than the first. on thursday i was in a middle school science room for half the day, those kids are so rude honestly😠they wouldn’t listen to me to be honest and kept questioning how old i was, i just tried to brush it all off. but i still had a good time ??? idk and friday i was in a high school math classroom, this was by far the easiest shift (as it should be), the kids sat quietly and did their work. i was worried that the students wouldn’t take me seriously as i am only 21, but none of them even gave a fuck honestly, they just minded their own business which i appreciated.
i enjoyed the wide range of ages i subbed for this week and i really appreciate the diversity that comes with this job. it’s so nice to not be stuck in the same room or cubicle every day :)
