So I was substituting at a middle school about six months ago. a student started chatting with me after her work was done. She was rambling about different things but then she mentioned how one girl is a favorite of the teacher (who is male) but it seemed in a weird way because, as she said, heās given her a pair of shoes before??? Thatās the extent of it, to which I was like.. thatās really weird if true. but nothing was said that would imply that he acted inappropriately besides the giving of the shoes. Idk if the girl was just annoyed and rambling about it or if she was trying to make me aware. It seemed like the former. But since there was nothing explicitly said to the conduct of the teacher towards the student besides a āfavoritismā I was conflicted on whether I should report or not. I feel so bad looking back on it because itās little things like that that, to me, might signal something bigger.. but afraid a report would not have been taken seriously because I wasnāt even sure myself, I didnāt. Can someone tell me if I should still report this? It crosses my mind from time to time, not knowing if I did the right thing
