Help using bitmaps with Splatter node
Post Body

Hello! New to Substance, and of course, trying to do something super simple is proving to be not so intuitive, and Google isn’t leading me to any answers.

I have a bitmap of a leaf. I would like to feed this leaf into a Splatter node. When I do, the result is black. What am I missing?

Seems I’m able to plug the bitmap into the tile sampler, so I must be missing something to get it to work with the Splatter node (yes I’m using the colour version).

Bonus question: if I’m blending two Splatter nodes together, is there any way to randomly place some leaves from one node above or below those in the other node? Some way to move the individual elements up or down in z space?

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond! A lot for me to parse, but some fantastic info.

Merry Christmas!
