Hello Fellow Subaru Enthusiasts!
I’m in a bit of a dilemma at the moment. My 2017 Subaru Impreza got totaled a few days ago (Hit-and-Run- screw drunk drivers!) I loved that thing and I’m pretty sure it saved me from getting seriously injured. I mean I didn’t even walk away from the accident with whiplash.
Anyways, I’ve been looking at new cars and holy smokes am I in a conundrum. I’m currently in between a 2020 Jeep Wrangler (2dr and sports model) and a 2020 Subaru Outback Limited edition. I love both so much and I keep trying to convince myself that the Subaru Outback is the more practical and safer choice but the Wrangler keeps calling my name for obvious reasons.
For context I do live in a major city in Texas. Im a 23 y/o single female. I’m not sure how often I’d be able to go off-roading. This car will be my daily driver. We have dealt with flooding and ice on the roads more than once which is why I will always drive a 4WD/AWD.
Anyways I welcome any and all opinions!
We went from a Rubicon to Outback Wilderness. Pros: -Much more comfortable -Better for long rides -Better gas mileage -More room believe it or not -Handles snow better -Jeeps are as aerodynamic as a toaster, so with every side wind you’d have to fight it not to switch lanes, none of that with Outback. -Lesbians love me
Cons:
-You don’t get the rubber duckies or
Jeep waves from other Wrangler drivers
-Your kids call you uncool
-The various beeps and chimes may drive you nuts
-Definitely not as capable off-road, but can handle most situations
-Sits lower (downside for me)
