Orientation for ditch lights

2018 Xt, I'd like to install some ditch light mounts/lights to mainly get better forward visibility. But I'm a little concerned I'd get some reflection of the hood if they are not mounted to sides.
Does anyone have experience orienting pod style lights directly out in front vs canted off axis as a true ditch light?
