Couldn't stop car from rolling
Post Body

Happened this morning and not sure what caused it. Roommate got out to run back inside just as i was in the process of backing into the street.

She had the keys still in her pockets (she was passenger). My foot slipped off the brakes (was in reverse, waiting). Tried everything to stop the car and brakes wouldn't work, it just kept rolling backwards into the street (luckily traffic had cleared). Would not stop at all, i backed onto the curb to stop momentum and couldn't do anything at all until the keys were back in the car.

Is this normal? Part i left out at the top is the passenger door was initially left open. When I hit the curb it finally closed.

Was a shitty situation but I've never had a car stop responding while it was running in any situation like what happened today.
