We have been in an irl dynamic for almost 2 years. There were signs before. White lies here and there. When I almost left the first time, he said he was afraid of losing me and did not want to do anything to hurt me ever again. And he changed things, or so I thought. I found out he made a date to meet another woman this week. I don’t even have any more tears to shed. I feel numb. He could have just fessed up, been up front about it. But instead he chose to be deceptive, yet again. I trusted him. He assured me many times that he wouldn’t betray me, hurt me again. Well, now he won’t.

Why do they do that? Why can’t they just be honest?
