Idk why maybe it’s just me overthinking but sometimes it feels like this sub looks down on the hogeschoolen to a certain extent. So I’m trying to understand why that is and to make the best decision for myself.

I am planning to study in NL next year for the 2025/26 intake or if possible the feb 2025 intake. To me it seems like a bachelors degree from a hogeschool would be the best for me. But I’m not sure of it since here I think most people encourage you to go for a research university. People in NL would know the situation the best so I need some insight from them.

I’m thinking of going for a bachelors in international business. I looked into the curriculum for some of the hogeschoolen like HANS, The Hague and even Amsterdam university of applied sciences and I really liked the curriculum. I like that they were very practical oriented instead of academia and in general the curriculum as well.

I know that a bachelor degree at these schools take 4 years and don’t give you direct access to a masters program. However I plan on joining the job market immediately and gain some more experience and maybe do a masters someday in the future if I feel like so. I don’t plan on staying in NL ,I’ll have to join my partner in Belgium and I am a non-eu citizen, if that’s all relevant.

So in my situation would it be advisable to go for a hogeschool?
