Hey, there. I track in Reaper, but I find it quite cumbersome to edit it. I've finished tracking drums for an album (10 songs, 16 mics) and I'm looking for a different DAW to comp/ edit in (then back to Reaper for mixing, automation, etc). I've seen some compelling videos where people seem to be able to comp their drums quite easily using Studio One. The last time I downloaded the free version, it did NOT play nice with my laptop - I spontaneously lost two sessions before my very eyes for who knows what reason, but anyway - I've got another laptop now, so, I'm ready to give in another shot...
The drums are played almost perfectly. I don't want to mess with that, of course, so I can't see anything too serious needing to be done - Maybe just replacing a fill here and there from another take, copy pasting, nudging a hit a little closer to the click, etc. I'm pretty good with playing and tracking, but as you may be able to tell, editing and all that is not my strong suit... I would use Traction Waveform, which I became fairly proficient in, but I'm not sure it would suffice for this kind of thing?? Would the free version of Studio One be able to do what I need for this drum stuff??
Could ya'll chime in and make me shut up now??
lol
Thanks for the time.
