EDIT: I want to know what experiences anyone has regarding leaving the US as a nurse to become a permanent resident in another country. What went well? What didn’t go so well? What field do you work in currently and what changed since you left? If you haven’t gone yet, where are you in the process?
I’m currently in my first semester of clinicals and for years, I’ve been wanting and planning to move outside the US. I’ve looked into requirements in a few countries and most tend to have a work visa requirement and their own version of NCLEX to take which is fine.
Few questions: I have a variety of interests, but how far should I go in the US (BSN? MSN? How many years?) if I plan to leave this country and never come back?
Are there programs like student exchange or Doctors Without Borders but for nurses?
Are there fields that lend themselves better to international exchange more than others?
