I took out $107k in loans for my master's. For the first time ever, my balance is below that amount ($106k). I have made over $74k in payments over the past decade.
Post Body

I sent a handwritten card to VP Harris with my recommendations to relieve the burdens of student debt.

  • Cancel student debt in the amount of interest paid
  • Cap future SL interest at 2%
  • One-time $25k tax break to anyone who paid off student loans in the past 15 years
  • Requirement that SL payback is always as an income-based plan, unless the borrower actively opts out
  • Keep it simple; no means testing

It's the freaking interest, man.

POTUS can act on the first point; Congress (unfortunately) would need to act on the rest.
