Virgin ears need to be stretched.

Now that I got your attention, I've never pierced my ears but have been wanting to for the longest in the hopes to stretch in the future. However, i've read there are ways to get a headstart in a way, like dermal punching or using a thicker needle for the intial piercing and since I have some big lobes I want to take advantage. Definitely looking for advice towards it as I know nothing. Also, some good piercing spots in LA would be great. Thanks in advance
