So for context, I am the poster boy for stretching in all the worst ways possible: acrylic tapers, taping method, no patience, a couple blowouts, etc. to now where my lobes don't look to flash hot without jewelry, and they were very thin.

I got to 25mm (which was my goal size) but I was always worried I was a strong breeze away from a double lobe tear so I went naked for 6 months. Heard a lot about downsizing to help bring up thickness with mixed results, and thought at worst it doesn't work.

Cut to approx 9 months ago where I decided to try stretching again. Lobes we're looking a lot thicker (still have a bit of a thin spot on both lobs but not worryingly so anymore). I started at a conservative 12mm although I realistically could have started bigger cause they practically rocketed out the back after putting them in. Then I patiently dead stretched up 1mm at a time to 19mm. Happy days, no dramas...until about a month ago trying to go up to 20

Uh oh, no go. Every other size up was fine, so I was like 'what gives?' Cracked out the calipers...yup, the 19s were actually 18.7 approx and the 20s were 20.5. Bugger

So I scoured the Internet trying to find half size glass plugs (which id read a lot about on this very subreddit) but I could not for the life of me find any that weren't incredibly expensive aka custom ordered (bearing in mind, I'm in Australia and our dollar is horrendous right now).

However, I found steel tunnels in half sizes so I thought why not, can't hurt to try. Got them in no sweat, the ends were not as tapered as glass plugs but they aren't sharp so they slid in fairly easily.

Cut to this afternoon, thought Id give the cough "20s" cough another crack. Bam, slid straight in!

Moral of this harrowing tale: downsizing CAN work, half sizes are amazing and fuck BAF for NOT reading my note on my order for the glass plugs to be slightly smaller than the advertised size (which arctic buffalo have done for me in the past and I will buy from them from now on)
