Re Streatching after closing up

Hey all,
Not sure if what i want to do is a good idea but i had my ears stretched to 1/2in in high school and i loved it. Joined the Navy at 19 and they never fully closed so i had to have them sewn to join. Its been ages since them, but ive been out for a while and want to do it again just wondering if anyone has ever dont this before and if its something thats not recommended.
