Street hockey on shoes, thoughts?

I used to play as a kid without skates. I’d love it if there were a local club that had games but without the roller skate requirement. I feel thats too intimidating.
Ive also thought about making a club but strictly for fun.
Is there a mentality out there that might say hey man you’re ruining the game by just hitting a puck with sticks on shoes or is everyone cool with that?
