Best Way to earn fight money after initial options?

Hey all,
Been trying to unlock everything I can on the cheap using fight money. I've watched videos on the best ways to earn that large initial amount (Story mode(s), demos, etc), but once you've earned that initial flood of a few hundred thousand to unlock some characters, does anyone know what the best way is to keep earning for additional stuff like stages and costumes?
Is it just doing missions and grinding Survival on Easy to slowly level up all characters?
