We need a presupposition as a starting point. So i presuppose the Bible is true, just like you with evolution

I use to really get stuck on this. Please correct me if Iā€™m wrong, but this isnā€™t actually true, right?

  1. We donā€™t need a presupposition.

  2. We presuppose evolution is true now, but only because itā€™s stood the test of time for 150 years. When evolution first became a thing it was a hypothesis. We didnā€™t presuppose it was true. (Did we presuppose it was false when we were doing experiments??)

We only assume evolution is true now because thereā€™s mountains of evidence that support it. And if there was something that showed us evolution was false, then weā€™d be open to it being wrong, but it just hasnā€™t happened.

Soā€¦ I need a more eloquent way to explain that. Also, do you make corrections?

I guess you could use se. ā€œWhy do we need to presuppose the Bible is true? I can presuppose evolution is false. Then we can experiment and see if itā€™s actually falseā€??

Any thoughts on this?
