I use to really get stuck on this. Please correct me if Iām wrong, but this isnāt actually true, right?
We donāt need a presupposition.
We presuppose evolution is true now, but only because itās stood the test of time for 150 years. When evolution first became a thing it was a hypothesis. We didnāt presuppose it was true. (Did we presuppose it was false when we were doing experiments??)
We only assume evolution is true now because thereās mountains of evidence that support it. And if there was something that showed us evolution was false, then weād be open to it being wrong, but it just hasnāt happened.
Soā¦ I need a more eloquent way to explain that. Also, do you make corrections?
I guess you could use se. āWhy do we need to presuppose the Bible is true? I can presuppose evolution is false. Then we can experiment and see if itās actually falseā??
Any thoughts on this?
