The weather has changed for the better around my home and as a result, running is much easier to manage. My paces haven’t improved a ton, but the same paces now result in much lower HR values. I’ve also managed to add time to my regular long runs and weekly mileage recently, meaning, even though I’m running 6 days a week and in workouts doing things I haven’t done outside of races, my fitness score is going down day over day/week over week.
Caveats: - yes I “know” that my actual abilities have improved (yay!) - yes, I’m aware that the score is pretty meaningless in the big picture (it’s just a number, not a race) - yes, I’m aware I can use the relative effort score on a given workout instead of HR.
It’s just a rant and a realization that summer heat and humidity is no joke!
Sound off if you have similar experiences or related rants. I know what to do, I don’t want advice!
