Hi, I’m a 21F senior in college with a science degree. Recently, I started strattera for ADHD but I also have gastrointestinal and GERD issues that my doctor was made aware of. But the symptoms have been awful for me. Specifically my symptoms are headaches, extreme nausea, acid reflux (to the point of puking and being unable to bend over without it going down my throat), my stomach quite literally feels like it’s burning me from the inside out, severe dizziness, hot flashes, insomnia, episodes of drowsiness, feeling like i’m experiencing everything through a fog or lens, flu like ick feeling, and also random episode of crying over small things. I also do not currently feel real in the sense that reality itself does not feel real since I no longer feel any emotions, besides frustration. I’m also getting to the point again where I am starting to fear foods since I just get sick and more sick whenever I eat. I left a voicemail for my counseling nurses office regarding the symptoms, but I am thinking I should stop this weekend since I cannot think critically, or really at all, which is needed for my assignments. Just turned on in that I absolutely bombed, and I have an exam on Monday and I cannot afford to fail anymore. I also really don’t think the potential pros are going to ever outweigh the cons if I trigger another event in which I’m so physically ill from foods that I just won’t be able to get out of bed. Therefore, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and was recommended to stop or if anyone really has any advice that would be appreciated. Thank you!
Update: Thank you for everyone that commented and gave advice! I really appreciate it. My doctor got back to me today and advised me to stop taking it immediately, and so I will discontinue my use.
