Hi.
Currently making my way through the post game, having some questions about mechanics. Might be apparent from the questions but I like caster builds :)
If I understand Ultima and Evocation affinity correctly, you get no benefit from matching it with your active job type? IE if I play a Warlock (Evocation), and if I had 2 almost identical sets of eq, except one was all Ultima affinity and Ultima effects, and the other was all Evocation affinity and (same) Evocation effects, my Warlock would perform just the same in either set.
What passive/effect types will work with spells. I assume generic damage/break damage would, but what about more conditional effects. Example do Charge Attack damage passives effect spell damage? Does any charge related passive? Do Action mp cost reductions?
What are the most popular ways to keep mp fueled for a caster?
Related, what effects the efficiency of MP Regen cmd ability. I assume Void 400% and similar equipment effects help with the mp cost (does anything help reduce the mp limit cost, besides including ways to make it easier to build mp limit back, like BLK 400% ?). Do buff extensions get you more total MP per cast, and is there anything that increases the magnitude of the regen per tick?
How big of a weighting does Physical Attack/Magical attack have in the damage formula? I've noticed that within weapon types there seem to be groupings, a few weapons will have higher Magical attack and lower Physical attack, and vice versa. Is it worth trying to find the best weapon, or is it of minor impact compared to all the other aspects of the weapon (ie weapon special attacks and high affinity %)
What's the maximum droppable affinity for shields and two-handers?
