I recently got my grandpa to start watching the show. I was so pumped because it's my favorite show and he's a big TV guy too. It's how we bond most of the time. I let him almost finish season 1 before asking him his thoughts. When I finally asked him what he thought of the show so far, he told me that he was enjoying it, but he was very confused.
Being a super fan I was beyond ready to help provide him with some clarity, but as he started describing his confusion, I gotta say it stumped me as well. I finally asked him what was currently happening on the episode he's watching, and he texted me this: "OK I am on episode four. I'm confused. There's one boy who has visions, he lives with his family, and there's another boy who lives with some guy in the woods, he's also strange. I think his name is Hipper? I also don't understand what's happening with the little boy who sees visions of the bad place whose father is currently helping him with a map.”
Ah fuck🫣 I immediately realized that he started the show on season 2! I told him he was on the wrong season, and he said "thank god I thought I was just stupid"😂 We've since got him back on the right track, and he's currently enjoying the real season 1. I couldn't imagine the A1 confusion I'd have trying to figure out the plot by starting on season 2. I also love that he thought El was a boy.
