So I watched the ending for a first time and was shocked. Hopper dying like a hero big evil monster thing dying and happy ever after... nope!

I started to think as the portal in a more literal sense. A portal. From one place in the world to another not just from the up to the down.... not anymore.

Hopper isn’t dead. He was teleported to Russia, my biggest supporting piece is the after credits when the Russian guard chooses not to pick the ‘American’ to be sacrificed.

Another supporting fact is why the hell where Russians even trying to open the portal in Hawkins? Easy. A portal from Russian to America that only they could use. A invasion. If they could get into enemy lines with just a few steps then that’s a amazing advantage.

Now sure like every theory there’s holes that people can point out, and I hope you do! If I can iron out some of these holes we can make a more concrete theory! So please comment below!
