Some Mythos for a romance/adventure story I came up with
Post Body

So I’m kind of new to writing romance type stories, typically I tend to lean more toward the science fiction and fantasy genres, and I guess this story involves the latter. The story is about an arranged marriage and the story is very loosely based off the story of Persephone and Hades, but it’s very loosely. But I was wondering if I could get feedback for the main mythos of my little world I’ve created? The mythos drive the main plot of the story.

The Mythos: The world was created by a powerful god named Statmos (he’s like Kronos and Zeus combined, he is the God of the Gods.) who had three daughters, and a bunch of minor gods who aren’t as important.

First was Plantis, The goddess that wanted to make plants. Next was Humana, and she created Humanity. Finally was Animilia, who wanted her own thing. Her father let her create something, and the young goddess enlisted the help of nymphs, who in this world act as a middle ground between Humans and Gods.

Nymphs were created by Statmos, and thus, he believed he had complete rein of them to do as he would. This included forming relationships with them. Animilia and the nymphs created all the animals, each nymph on Earth making their own animal. A rumor quickly spread that Animilia had fallen in love with a particular nymph after being completely amazed with their creation. No one knew who the nymph was, though.

Statmos became enraged, and punished his daughter and all the nymphs by cursing them to be reincarnated every 200 years as one of Humana’s creations, as Statmos believed they were the far superior ones. The curse would be broken once the nymph and Animilia found each other again, proving their love for each other. There was a catch, though, as Animilia would be bound to the earth which the affair occurred on. If she left it, she and the earth would die, causing her goal to be far harder to reach.

Humana, feeling guilty that Animilia’s punishment involved her creation, appeared on Earth, and informed humanity of the story. Humans came to befriend animals, and identify by them, creating groups named after them. These groups would evolve into kingdoms, where the nobility were believed to be descendants of the nymphs, with a new reincarnation emerging in the noble family every 200 years. At the center of these Kingdoms is the Kingdom of All creatures, a trade and port Kingdom that is a melting pot of the rest of the kingdoms. It is the biggest, and is believed to be home to the reincarnation of Animilia herself, as the Kingdom is the very place where Humana said the affair occurred.

I know that’s a lot to read, and I apologize. That’s sort of the base Mythos right now, I do plan to maybe extend and build upon it. The book itself will follow Miykal, (the younger sister if the alleged next incarnation of Animilia) and Ryuu, the King of the Kingdom of the Dragon, who is also the reincarnation of Dragos, the nymph who created Dragons.

Thanks so much for reading this lengthy post! Feedback is welcomed and appreciated!
