In this world, William Harvey, the man credited with discovery of veins realizes in his discoveries, that there is a vein that leads to no circulation but is connected to most neurons in your mind. After extensive study, mostly through German and Russian tests during WW2, it is discovered that rearranging the end of this line, despite it not seemingly being vital, could extend or end a person's life.
As modern technologies progress, we can look closer, and edit precisely, and can basically control everyone's life. They believed it to be from the loom of fate. A string sewn into everyone that says what your life will be Lifeline is a company owned by a scientist who has capitalized on the ability to control the populations future.
What do I need from you guys? How does a conflict begin? How much control does the Lifeline have over your life, both through the company and the affect the "thread of fate" has on you? how does the scientist get stopped, and how can the character face challenges?
