So Ive finished stormlight and started on mistborn, I just finished book 2 and a thought occurred to me

Could the prohibition on prophecy in Vorin religion be a holdover from what whoever this shard is in Mistborn has done regarding prophecies? Like an honor installed safeguard from another Shard messing around with his peoples minds?
