What binds Odium to his promises?

Haven’t seen this discussed yet, but in ROW odium binds himself to an agreement with Dalinar on their contest.

Now, the terms of this contest have been discussed to death, and Taravangian found a way to be devious within their bounds - according to his rambling - but WHAT binds Odium to maintain the contract?

Odium is not honour, so is being bound to an agreed contract just a divine requirement of all shards? What is to stop Odium from just being dishonest and disobeying? I don’t see what attaches the shard to the agreement.
