Prophecy and foresight are heavily associated with Voidbinding. We have only one on-screen use of this power other than by the shards, that being Renarin's visions, and his re-playing them with Illumination. It has been speculated elsewhere that foresight actually is the 'Voidish' equivalent of illumination, or is at least one aspect of it.
Now, while Honor-deriveved Surgebinding does not have prediction powers that we know of, it does have a form of divination: Stoneshaping, from the surge of Cohesion.
Stoneshaping, in addition to shaping stone, can use Connection to see into the past. Past events and people emerge in the patterns of the stone, and disappear when the Surgebinder stops using it. Most significantly, this is specific to the 'normal' form of the surge of Cohesion; the Cohesion Fused, the makay-im, can not do it.
This has interesting implications. First, it is interesting that these two mirror each other this way- Voidbinding has a special variant of a surge that lets them see into the future, and standard Surgebinding has a special variant of a different surge that lets them see into the past.
Now we get into speculation territory, increasingly wild and unhinged as we go down. You are warned.
For one thing, could it be possible that Cultivation's magic system- perhaps the Old Magic, perhaps some other undiscovered system- has a third form of divination? Since the other two are past and future, could this maybe be some kind remote viewing or scrying in the present?
Something interesting to note is that the Stoneshaping's divining property is in the Ars Arcanum explicitly connected to Connection, while visions and other forms of foresight are insinuated to relate to Fortune. Both these attributes are in the Spiritual quadrant of the Feruchemy table. The remaining two are Investiture and Identity, so perhaps this third system of divination relates to one of those two. Probably Identity, as Invenstiture is how all magic works anyway. Maybe this form somehow relates to self-awareness or something similar?
Illumination and cohesion are roughly a third of the way apart. Since 10 is not divisible by 3, we have two candidates: Gravitation and Division.
Any other speculation?
