I accidentally stayed up until 3 am and finished the book.
I went in worrying I wouldn't like it as much as the others as I did find there parts in oathbringer where it was very slow to get through but my worries were unfounded!
I loved all the science parts and I really loved seeing what our radiants can do without their powers and how Navani is absolutely amazing at what she does, even when the whole of Urithiru is at stake. Between her and Jasnah they're my favourite female characters I've ever read.
I flew through the entire book in a week, though I loved the first few flashbacks I don't think the later ones were quite as interesting.
Raboniel was such an interesting character, I loved her and hated her in equal measure.
Adolin and Maya in the courtroom was such a powerful scene "you cannot have my sacrifice" aaahhh
Tefts death absolutely broke me, especially when Kaladin discovered him and I thought that was it for him. As a side note - FUCK MOASH. I don't think I've ever hated a character so much in all my life. Though I also find him interesting.
Dalinar and the stormfather giving Kaladin more time as he threw himself off the tower, what a moment. I cried like a baby through the whole of chapter 108 where Kaladin sees Tien and he swears the fourth ideal. I really thought Kaladin was done for. But also how about Lirin (who I strongly dislike) finally seeing how much everyone looks up to Kaladin because they're all wearing the shash on their forehead and when Kaladin saves him and the moment where they finally agree to disagree (I mean he did just save your life you daft man its the least you can do) but kaladins brand fell off and I just felt such happiness I can't even tell you!
And navani bonding THE SIBLING!! I didn't see that coming and honestly I loved it so much, especially when she looks at Moash and says "journey before destination, you bastard" WHAT AN ABSOLUTE BOSS MOVE!! I cheered so hard at this, out loud that I really don't know how I didn't wake up my fiance who was sleeping upstairs.
And Rlain really came into his own here, when he took charge after the civil war and was like "I learned from the best"
And how about Taravangian becoming odium???
This book is so fantastic, and while it absolutely broke me (I've never cried like that at a book in my life) I cannot wait for book 5. I'm going to finish the cosmere and re read stormlight before December and put myself through the emotional wringer again because I simply can't get enough. Every time I finish one of these books I am astounded again, at what an amazing author Sanderson is.
