Well, perhaps less a theory and more the strange wish of a woman who know she won't get what she wants...

I like to think that Honor will be taken up by Adolin, and not Dalinar. At least, temporarily.

See, my thoight process is tied up neatly in 4 parts. 1) I believe that Dalinar will specifically take up both Honor and Odium to become War, and that in order for this to happen Honor needs to be reformed with a host, then given up, and Tod needs to be split apart. This would create the opening for Dalinar to take up both Shards. 2) We know that Adolin is among the most honorlike of characters in our story, and that he is one of the most mentally stable and sound characters as well. In addition, he is willing to act where his father isn't. So I feel a good role for him would be to take up Honor to help his father reforge the Shard, then attack Tod to weaken them enough to be split apart. 3) Adolin will willing step down from Honor because Shallan and family, and become a Splinter. 4) Dalinar uses his powers as a bondsmith to take both shards, becoming War, and shaking up the Cosmere with our 2nd 2 Shard fusion.
