I absolutely love the Stormlight Archives so far. I've read the first three books and have found tons of inspiration. It is my favorite thing right now. My problem is I felt the same way reading Enders Game and then kept that feeling through the Enders Saga. But when I got to the Ender's Shadow saga, things started to get really weird. Just really off character motivations and plot lines. So weird and out of character that I looked up why.
Well Orson Scott Card seems to have been pretty heavily influenced by his religion (Mormonism) and while it certainly wasn't a problem early on, it becomes glaring and completely ruins the characters by the end of the Shadow series.
I recently found out Sanderson is also pretty heavily influenced by Mormonism and though his characters are beautifully written so far, and even of varying faiths and ideologies, I'm just checking in with the fan base to see if I should expect anything similar to the Ender universe in that characters begin centering around concepts that are too obviously geared towards an external agenda.
