Roommate kevina...

Post Body

Had a roommate for a while who was working on her masters degree for social work. It baffles me to this day how she could spend so much time in school and still be so dumb and unaware of her surroundings.

When she moved in, she was doing so to get away from an alcoholic boyfriend she had been living with. Okay, for sure, I will do my best to help anyone get out of a situation like that. Initially the room set up was a bit disorganized since we were moving another roommate out, but Kevina needed to move in asap so I basically let her use my room and slept in my partners room to accomodate for her. So initially i didn't really notice any of the issues until I started moving my stuff out of that room.

She had a few strange habits. Like sticking used pads to the walls of her bedroom and leaving them there for undetermined amounts of time. Leaving used tampons in the tub after a shower was another thing, tho outside of her bedroom. Gross but maybe not based in stupidity, maybe just laziness. We eventually had a drain clog in the tub and when we snaked it, it turned out she had tried to shove a tampon down the tub drain. I can't even explain how she jammed it in there but I imagine it was disgusting to do.

She had an awesome indoor/outdoor cat and complained he kept her up at night. We informed her, cats are nocturnal so that makes sense, why not let him out to roam at that time? Had to explain to her what that meant despite 8 years of higher learning, whatever, chalk it up to ignorance. She never gave her cat a flea treatment so our home became mildly infested with fleas. The other 2 pets in the home received a treatment every few months as they're supposed to, and shocker, had no fleas. The flea infestation was mostly in her bedroom, and despite this she blamed the rest of us for fleas. "Fleas aren't even a big problem, I've had them pretty much everywhere I've ever lived and its no big deal" what the fuuuck. we informed her, fleas are not a good thing, and she basically proved to us her frequent negligence by stating this, fleas are a big deal and are in the lease for the home as something that would cost us alot of money to fix if not dealt with immediately. So we made her buy 2 rounds of flea bombs. She didn't read any labels and figured she would bomb overnight while she and her cat were sleeping in her bedroom, and we all slept in our beds. Luckily she mentioned this to my partner before attempting but holy shit. She didn't seem to grasp that flea bombs could make humans sick, and potentially kill small animals as well. So my partner did all the work. We actually didn't realize she hadn't been giving her cat a flea treatment until the fleas came back and he asked her about it. Kevina literally thought we would do it for her.

That was the most annoying thing she did while we lived together but other kevina things included

-Drunk driving to places she could have walked, occassionally side swiping cars and running from the scene (wants to be a social worker, mind you)

-Getting so drunk she forgot where her car was parked

-Pushing so hard on the TV she broke the stand

-Getting so drunk she pissed on the couch when she passed out on it, tried to blame her cat (cat pee smells WAY different than human pee, come on)

-Getting fired from multiple jobs for idiocy

-Paying rent in quarters (whatever, it's still paid but definitely a minor annoyance to get 15 bucks of rent in quarters)

-She pretended to know Spanish and when someone who actually knew Spanish spoke to her she got offended because she thought "preguntas?" Meant "are you pregnant?" When it just means "questions?"

And then at the end of her stay, she gave us 30 days notice to move to hawaii. As in we didn't kick her out, she told us she planned to move out by the 31st. Didn't have a place to live lined up and 4 days before leaving, posted on fb in search of a place to stay. I think kevina had a bit of a pride issue and didn't want to ask to stay after all the dumb shit she pulled and probably felt stupid for telling everyone she was moving to hawaii and not following through (again, this was like the 4th trip she planned and didn't go on in a span of 8 months)

Oops: one more just because. We went out to a party and got quite drunk. A friend drove us home to prevent her probably side swiping someones car. I brought a guy home to make out with and flirt with and she had a guy come over. I'm on the couch snuggling this guy and making out and shit and she comes and asks me for a condom. I run to my room and grab a bunch for her, come back and she's already fucking the dude I brought home. I had no emotional attachments to this guy but wtf? She takes the condoms and runs down to fuck the other guy. What's the point of the condoms if you just had unprotected sex with someone anyway? Rude as fuck. She also stole alot of my Tupperware and other misc tiny stupid crap. It's worth it to have her out of my life though.

UPDATE. Roommate kevina no longer lives with me. We are flea free. Kevina got a new boyfriend, and they came together to realize they each had a drinking problem. So together they decided to become sober. After 30 or so days, on st. Pattys day, she got in a drunk driving accident and her car was totaled. Shitty to finally be sober and get smashed by someone else, but hopefully it keeps her from drinking
