For some reason, when initially trying this supplement a while back, I didn't notice any effects, leaving it untouched in my cabinet for a quite some time. However, I recently decided to give it another shot and discovered that taking 1000mg first thing in the morning makes a pronounced improvement in my mood and motivation within 40 minutes!!!
While I am unfortunately still grappling with Vyvanse addiction, I plan to skip it tommorow and instead take one or two L-tyrosine capsules along with some matcha. When I combine the L-tyrosine with Vyvanse, it almost feels like too much, honestly. I've taken Vyvanse half an hour after the L-tyrosine, only to regret it once the effects of the L-tyrosine kicked in. On it's own, it won't produce the same high as Vyvanse, but it definitely makes me feel much better compared to taking nothing at all.
While I don't advocate long-term dependency on any substance, an amino acid supplement is surely safer than amphetamines. I believe this could be a valuable tool for those in recovery who feel unable to function without the dopamine boost.
