Attending my first NA meeting

Post Body

Yesterday, I wrote a post about my longest binge, and I received great support from you guys. Thank you!

Today, I went to my first NA meeting. I had a moment of resignation when I crossed the place where the meetings are held because I saw a bunch of people before the entrance. Due to the fact that I developed anxiety from drug use, I wanted to screw it and go back home. Fortunately, I was able to find some strength to enter. Despite feeling nervous and anxious, I felt happy deep in my soul that I made my first step towards a sober life. People there were really nice. I was welcomed by everybody, and the person responsible for welcoming people described a little bit about how it works before the meeting started.

During the meeting, I answered only the first question of the 12 steps, and for the rest, I decided to stay silent because I just wasn't ready. Next meeting in the same city is on Wednesday, and on Friday, I'll go to another city because there is a speaker meeting. I don't remember the topic that will be addressed, but when one guy mentioned it, it sounded very interesting. Finally, on Saturday meeting in my city.

So overall, in the beginning, I want to attend 3 different meetings in 3 different cities, which will be 4 times per week.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I also received an A4 sheet with a welcome message and a lot of kind words from all the attending people, a keychain, and phone numbers from many people to call in difficult situations.
