Hello, my fellow courageous fighters, I wanted to share an update: I've been clean from 9 years of meth addiction for 9 months now. Overall, things have improved, but I still find myself struggling with anhedonia, depression, anxiety disorder, insomnia, avolition, and ADHD, conditions which I didn't realize I had before or weren't pre-existing. These symptoms have been diagnosed by my doctor, and I'm currently taking Prozac for depression, Etizolam for anxiety and insomnia, and the non-stimulant ADHD medication Strattera (Atomoxetine). Despite the medication, things are still challenging. However, I'm grateful that the temptation to relapse has diminished. I'm uncertain how much longer I'll have to endure this or if I'll ever reach a point closer to normalcy. I apologize for venting, but I know it would likely be worse if I hadn't quit. I commend all of you for fighting against the grip of addiction; it's an incredibly difficult journey. Each day without using is a victory. This Reddit community has been invaluable in helping me stay sober. We all understand the struggles of living with stimulant addictions and the road to recovery. I've already lived more than half of my life, and I'm determined to make the remaining years brighter. Thank you for listening to my vent, and to all my fellow warriors, stay strong! Much love.
Totally normal. Things will pick up more rapidly between 12-24 months.
