There's a TLDR at the end if you don't want to read the whole post.
If you know the game yugioh, well I would spend a lot of time playing it online, whether it was on duelingbook or ygopro. I didn't think I was addicted, but seeing what happened when I try going just two days without it - it really made things clear. I can't play in moderation, because I'm a very competitive player. The whole chase was to reach the top #200 (if you did, your name would be displayed on the rankings). I was at about #600 out of the over 150,000 accounts, and I knew I could make it to the top #200, but I figured it wasn't worth it. Like, ok, I've made it, now what. What have I done irl. I didn't want to stop playing, but I guess I just had to. I'd spend at least 4-5 hrs/day since the lockdown (sometimes even 6-7, and more if you include other time wasters like anime/social media), and I don't like that. My ideal was about 2 hrs but I could never stick with that, even when I was tryna be strict with myself.
So today is the first day in me quitting gaming altogether. The first half of the day went yucky, but then I started feeling better than when I was gaming tbh, I just need to find healthier activities to replace gaming with. I've picked up reading again, and I'm doing more "intellectual" stuff like reading insightful stuff on reddit. Still, I have a lot of free time that I need to "kill" but in a "productive" way. I might take another shot at coding, although I'm trying to avoid doing a lot of computer-based activities since my eyes start hurting (despite breaks). I'm doing more studying but I get really bored of that really quickly (3 hours is a big grind for me).
TL;DR - quit gaming, want suggestions to fill up the time I freed.
