Tips to stay awake while high

I’ve been smoking a hybrid cartridge that would knock me out, so I tried a sativa cartridge yesterday and it still made me nod off early. It definitely felt different and stimulating, but still within a few hours I nodded off. Any tips on how to not pass out within a few hours of smoking? To describe what I typically do, I usually watch tv while on the couch so is it what I’m doing that makes me tired?
