So, I do one of three things when I smoke weed. Either I'll do something I love to do, which for all intents and purposes means either writing or juggling, because that's seriously all I do with my life since the aliens gave me a psychotropic lobotomy, or it means I'll sit there and just zone out while drifting away in my imagination. All three of these things work together to make me a hyper-productive person.
First off, there's writing. Smoking weed used to hinder my writing, but I got a different style now. I can churn out a stream of consciousness easily after seven years of writing thousands of words daily. So, I'll just space out and let my thumb do its thing while my brain does its own thing. It's like there's a delay and I can use that to be more creative. I'm more likely to think laterally and come up with consistently funny stories and shitposts. Sorry this isn't a particularly funny post, but there's a time to be serious and there's a time to be a clown. I'll try to sprinkle some smiles in here for you guys, though. Also, just want to mention in this paragraph that I just can't write poetry on weed. I get jumbled up on the finer details and it doesn't look or sound right. Oh well, that's what amphetamines are for!
Next, there's juggling. I'm a flow juggler, meaning I don't really think about the timing and coordination. There's tech jugglers who think about the notation and how to replicate it, but they're like musicians that can play sheet music; I'm one who plays jazz. And weed, oh my sweet baby Cthulhu, weed completely is a performance enhancing drug for flow juggling. I can come up with more creative and novel patterns, I can juggle for longer, and I can walk around with my balls easier. Plus, I get to zone out while juggling, because you juggle better when you don't think about what you're doing, so that I get to actively play in my imagination. This passively helps my writing, as I'll have more idea saplings to water. Fun times, as juggling while high is easily one of my most favorite things to do.
And lastly, we have the age old classic of doing fuck all. No, I don't mean watching TV or playing video games or jerking it to feet porn. I mean sitting there meditating in silence or with music. It's liberating, and it's also a necessity to maximize my productivity. It's like shaking the etch a sketch; everything you have stored in your short term memory, which is a very mechanically defined part of the mind, gets cleared and you can begin generating fresh idea saplings once again. I am so much more productive when I meditate for two or three hours a day. Plus, doing that much relaxation meditation means that I only really need to sleep four or five hours in a given night, and I'm completely refreshed when I wake up.
I find it's best to find a complimentary mixture of tasks that all work together to play off one another so that you maximize your limited time in this life. For instance, doing squats and running are counter-productive to each other. Sure, they may build up your leg muscles more, but if you had a weight-lifting competition and a marathon on the same day, you're going to suck ass at the second one. Balance is key. In my case, all three of my hobbies build into making me a hyper-productive writer. I can hit 5-10k words a day fairly regularly, and on a good day I can even hit 15k. I'm not bragging, it's just a metric I find really important to my mental health. When I'm industrious, I feel good about myself. Plus, when you can get nearly 80k words of your first book done in three months, and have it be of a quality you like, that's a damn good feeling. I want everyone to know such a feeling of being a super human. It's easy if you pick what you do with your time wisely.
