Basically, I am very saddened by my Political Beliefs about what is happening now. I know others may disagree with me but I am a conservative not a MAGA type or extreme right (libertarian and a belief in the core fundamentals of the founding fathers of America) . I disagree with the dogma that is coming out of this Covid-19 Situation and I have seen many of my friend suffer due to the locking down of the economy. I am in my early Thirties and all my friends in their 20s-30s have suffered in many ways from loosing their jobs, small business struggling as well as having stressful family issues with Kids at home, fights with wife, mental health. I also know some friends that got Covid and had generally very mild symptoms. My state completely locked us in for months. I see the media on both side twisting things to fit their agenda. I have studied the data and have come to the conclusion that covid as well know to many Doctors only affects negatively the Elderaly and those with Pre-existing Conditions. But it indirectly is hurting my fellow young people a lot and I believe for the interest of the whole society locking down was a big mistake unfounded and mostly fueled by media Hysteria. I agree to protect those in the vulnerable category in anyway possible but also to help the Average american citzen not loose his job and life. Last I feel it is unfair that mass protesting is happening as the protesters are being unchecked about this Covid Situation with the media backing them while I mostly had to stay at home for several months and lost pay etc while the media spins it as something postive and unchecked. I have seen many lies go on and I feel that the system is unfair. I support peaceful protests and I am glad for them, but I don't agree with them being unchecked about the Covid situation like us normally people were by the mass media. Lastly I am unsatisfied with their behavior as of late with the destruction of some of our founding fathers statues like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln that fought for freedom of us Americans and gave us the freedom and equality we currently have. But as a stoic I know these events are beyond my control and that arguing with friends and family about politics only stresses me and doesn't accomplish anything just stresses me. I am not sure I should give up my own ideas and focus on myself instead of things beyond my control. I just feel deeply disturbed by these events and feel injustice was done. But I also don't want to feel angry or argue with people with differing opinions. I also don't feel its healthy delving too much into Politics as it take time away from other valuable things I could be doing. Also my Dad is very Media obsessed person and believes everything on the Media and we argue a lot about on the Phone which isn't great for our relationship. Any Advice would help
