Did Nelson Mandela really read MA's Meditations in prison?

Ive heard many people say that Marcus Aurelius' Meditations helped Nelson Mandela during his time in prison. The main Ted Talk on Stoicism also states this. However, I cannot find any credible sources, or quotes from Nelson Mandela, that indicate he read or was influenced by Marcus Aurelius. Is this just a rumour or is there any factual evidence?
