Stoicism App
Post Body

Hi,

I'm looking to make an app that helps people be more Stoic and I was wondering if you had any input. I was imagining something simple to start and, if the app got popular, I could add more to it. Although I'm not a regular post on /r/stoicism, I've read both Meditations and Letters From A Stoic and do practice Stoic techniques (negative visualization, "can I control this" version of mindfulness, memorizing Stoic maxims). So, although I'm a lurker and my Stoic credentials aren't the most impressive, I'm not just a troll.

One idea I had was just an app that helps you memorize some good stoic maxims. You'd open up the app and a quote would pop up. You swipe to the right and there's a text field where you write the quote from memory.

I also might add a guided negative visualization of sorts. This would also be swipe-based. Each page would include a picture and a little caption, taking you through a negative visualization.

If anyone has thoughts on these ideas or other ideas (that you're willing to share with me), feel free to respond here or PM me if you're shy.

Thanks.
