I take lexapro and have drowsy side effects, but I’m not willing to give it up due to the benefit I get from lex. So I also take Wellbutrin to counter the drowsiness and sexual side effects, but I’ve previously taken adderall when I was in college and I know it helps my work performance significantly and also would counter drowsiness and sexual side effects of lex, since it affects dopamine.
How likely would I get an adderall prescription if I directly told my psych that I’ve taken it before and feel that it would counter lexapro side effects and increase my work performance in a more effective way than wellbutrin? I’ve heard people say to never tell psychs you’ve taken it without a prescription or else they won’t prescribe it. What would be a good way to go about getting the prescription to replace Wellbutrin?
Also, I know Wellbutrin increases seizure risk, so I’d definitely wait until it was out of my system for a few weeks before starting the adderall if I did indeed get a prescription for it (following the psych’s directions on how to switch safely). Thanks in advance for any input.
