How do you guys combat vasoconstriction due to stimulant medication?πŸ’Š
Post Body

Tried to ask this on ADHD sub, but was rejected by mods due to homeopathy rule. Here some tips I have found useful, although they are quite common already and you might know most of them:

How do you all fight vasoconstriction due to stimulant medication? πŸ’Š

It is the worst thing to happen to me when using any stimulant (except atypical-structure based ones like cyclazodone and caffeine etc). Here are some tips I found quite sure to be working in most cases:

  1. Magnesium (expected lol)
  2. Citrulline, though arginine works better for me
  3. Protein powder (be careful with this one, your body compensates for vasoconstriction to absorb aminoacids, also break down of protein might increase nitrogen and ammonia in blood, causing somewhat pumping effect)
  4. Avoid too much calcium, go for potassium
  5. Omega 3 but not overdoing omega 6. Don’t eat too much omega 6 high foods. Omega 6 is a vasoconstrictor
  6. Warmth or cold wont really matter if your constriction is due stimulant use. just dont go freezing cold or overheating. overheating can damage muscles and cause stroke. just play it chill πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ
  7. Theanine (also helps with glutamate/calcium toxicity) like consuming warm green tea or straight powder capsules, although I find warm matcha tea to be synergic in its vasodilation effect, it also has proteins and caffeine
  8. Caffeine is also really good, but dont overdo it especially if there is high blood pressure. But funny thing is if you are too constricted it seems to lower blood pressure due to vasodilation and making blood pass easier
  9. Anti adrenergic medication, now this works all the time, but you dont want to use that too much really. I find A2 adrenergic agonists to be the best, as they remove the main reason of vasoconstriction which is norepinephrine and epinephrine
  10. Relaxing your whole body, relaxing muscles will cause vasodilation it seems. Being stiff just makes matters worse
  11. Humming (no joke) due to increase in nitrous in blood
  12. Vagal manoeuvres. It also warms you up from inside
  13. Natural ACE inhibitors like roiboos. There are some food products carrying ace inhibition capabilities that seem to help. Never tried real ace medications though.
  14. Exercise ofc. Just do it before taking your regular medication, as there are some risks when exercising when peaking on stimulants. Also it will require less dosage and make it way more effective and safe as a treatment. Stretching is also really good, easy and somewhat euphoric
  15. Dihydroquercetin. Also increases dopamine in brain tissue over time. Even 30mg of dihydroquercetin removes any constriction there is for me. Never tried quercetin though. I like onions and crave them a lot. Also there is quercetin in roiboos, but small amounts.
  16. Melatonin. It is anti adrenergic and helps prevent toxicity by complex body effect affecting your whole body. Agomelatine is also really good and way more potent (naphtalenes are more potent than indoles all of the time) but you have to speak with your dr to acquire it.
  17. Get your sleep. Circadian rhythm is linked to vasodilation/constriction.
  18. Piperine and curcumine seem to work. But be careful with curcumin - it is really potent and might cause heart palpitations. Some studies have concluded that it prevents abnormal heart remodeling. But it is hard to say for sure right now. But it is a great vasodilator anecdotally (my experience)

Do you guys have any other ideas? What do you all use?
