I have tried and hated all methylphenidate.
I was on Vyvanse in high school and didn’t notice any horrible side effects. I switched to focalin after high school and my life went to shit until I got off it recently. I am on Adderall XR right now, and I don’t like having ups and downs. I don’t like feeling like a junkie. I remember that Vyvanse didn’t make me feel like that and I miss it.
I did try Vyvanse for a stint of almost a month and it didn’t do too too much for me, it wore off quickly. But I was on the same dose I was in high school, I believe (40 mg). I want to try it again, as I believe amphetamines are for me.
That being said, I have researched and talked with my doctor regarding combination therapy. For those who are unaware, combination therapy is when a doctor prescribes a non-stimulant with a stimulant to treat ADHD. There are people who swear by this, and I really want to try it. I hope to eventually get off stimulants because they make me have zero personality.
