Earlier this year, I came across a few posts claiming Ritalin feels completely different when dissolved in 1–2ml of water and administered rectally (“boofed”) compared to taking it orally. I’d had bad experiences snorting it due to the fillers clogging my nose and making me feel irritable/aggressive, so curiously I did some research and decided to give it a shot. To my surprise, it really is a different experience—more euphoric and smoother, with fewer unpleasant side effects like high heart rate, paranoia, and mood swings. Over time, I got better at the process (yes, there’s a bit of a technique to it) and eventually made it my primary method of use.

However, this has become a double-edged sword. On one hand, boofing is undeniably superior—faster, more effective, and with fewer side effects. On the other hand, it’s inconvenient and, let’s face it, not the most “socially acceptable” way to take medication. Despite its advantages, I don’t want to rely on this method.

Here’s my problem: I tried switching back to oral consumption, even taking a 30-day break from Ritalin, but it just doesn’t compare. Boofing is smoother, more effective, and leads to a gentler comedown. Now, I feel stuck. I want to return to oral use for convenience and appearance’s sake, but knowing just how much better boofing is makes it hard.

I’ve considered switching medications, but I’m hesitant. I don’t want to try Dexies (Adderall) because I’m worried about higher likelihood I’ll get addicted, and Vyvanse makes it nearly impossible for me to sleep.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions?

One word of caution to anyone considering boofing Ritalin: once you start, snorting or eating Ritalin will feel like a totally waste in comparison. It’s kinda like taking the red pill from The Matrix—there’s no going back 🤣💀.
