So I have ADHD and get a script of Dexedrine (20mg ER and 10mg IR daily). I, probably stupidly, decided I wanted to try out a higher dose for recreational reasons.

So I started out by taking 40mg of IR Dexedrine. I felt euphoric, warm, and focused, but I felt like I could go a bit higher so I added 10mg IR 2 hours after dosing for a 50mg total.

My experience was probably what you’d expect. I enjoyed myself and listened to music which felt great. I also talked with so many friends as it made me SUPER social.

I’d rather use Dexedrine therapeutically at the end of the day so I’m going to stop taking my meds for a bit to recover from yesterday. It was also very tempting to redose. I am really good though at not going overboard with drugs and I have pretty good self control despite having ADHD.

ANYWAYS, the part you came for. Last night I took my regularly scheduled mirtazapine with 50mg of Dexedrine. The Dexedrine was definitely still in my system but it was starting to come down. When the Remeron kicked in I started hallucinating. I saw floating books and a small dancing man. I also saw a spider right in front of my face.

I wasn’t psychotic or anything as I could clearly tell these hallucinations weren’t real. I also wasn’t experiencing any other symptoms such as auditory hallucinations, or paranoia.

Does anyone have any idea why this would happen? Apparently mirtazapine is also a deliriant. I don’t know why d-amphetamine would cause it to exert its deliriant properties though as I only took 15mg of mirtazapine?

Also for extra information I slept very well the night before and I slept fine the night I did the Dexedrine. I stayed hydrated and ate food throughout the high. I take the prescription medications Abilify (aripiprazole) and Lexapro (escitalopram) in addition to mirtazapine and Dexedrine. I find they don’t affect the high of the Dexedrine, or if anything the high is slightly better.
