How did you feel (apart from fatigue, etc.,) when you broke free from your stim addiction? Free? Unburdened?

Note: I posted this on r/stopspeeding, but it was automatically deleted. If you want to stop speeding, it's probably the shittest sub to go to 🤷‍♂️

Anyway, I have felt a sense of freedom those times I've briefly been able to refrain from stimming; you know, when the urge hits? But more times than not, I give in.

I know all too well the fatigue, sense of hopelessness and all the negatives that come from withdrawal.

What I want to know about is the positive side. Is there really a feeling of freedom? As if shackles have fallen off?

I have been a victim to many different types of addiction, with one of the hardest to break being porn. I was able to break free from porn for a year or two, and not having that shame on my shoulders was awesome. But stims and porn often go hand-in-hand (forgive the pun).

I am withdrawing from benzos, but I've never been addicted to them; I couldn't care less about them. Unfortunately, I'm physiologically dependent on benzos and have to taper slowly.

I want to break free from amphetamine, as it's truly my kryptonite. I'm hoping some of you guys can give me your testimonies and/or inspiration. I'm not sure if one can ever be truly free from their addictions (in the sense that one must always be careful not to "play with fire" in the future), but I'm hoping to break free from amphetamine addiction so I can be a better, more loving and attentive person
