Summary: Let me enlighten you about the oh-so-important neurotransmitter Serotonin and how it affects your brain. Because, you know, understanding your neurochemistry is totally going to give you an edge in life. Especially in the sexual marketplace... not that this post is about getting laid, of course. No, no, this is about the incredibly deep and profound task of grooming yourself psychologically to maintain your precious frame and state of mind. Oh, and by the way, this is not meant for those science nerds with actual degrees in Biochemistry. I'm keeping it simple for the plebeians.

So, back in my heyday as a neuroscience researcher (which I gave up on because academia is a joke) I somehow managed to accumulate an impressive amount of knowledge about my own brain. Unlike most brainiacs in my field, I possess something called social skills, which means I can actually understand how other humans function at a molecular level. And just to add to my impressive resume, I used to be a druggie too. Yup, I'm basically a genius when it comes to understanding my own brain chemistry.

It's quite amusing to see all you stimmers blabber on about Dopamine and completely overlook the rest of the neurotransmitter gang. You see, Serotonin is part of this elite group called the Monoamines, along with a bunch of other fancy molecules that regulate basically everything in your brain. From your mood, focus, and aggression to your social dominance, concentration, and even your sex drive. You can totally learn to sense your own neurotransmitter levels and become some biopsychological superhero who can open his own debug menu. So, how about we dive into the magical world of Serotonin?

Serotonin, my dear friends, is what makes you feel all warm and fuzzy when you're basking in the sun. It's responsible for those sappy "feelings of warmth and happiness" that you might have experienced on MDMA, a.k.a. Ecstasy. Oh, and did you know that all those hallucinogenic drugs mess with your Serotonin systems? Quite mysterious, right?

Now, there used to be this silly belief that Serotonin deficiency caused depression, but who cares about proven facts anyway? What we DO know is that low Serotonin levels make you feel like the world is a big pile of crap. It's basically the deciding factor between having a positive or negative outlook on life and other people. So, if you're feeling like everything sucks, blame it on your low Serotonin. And if you're feeling like you're worth nothing, that's probably due to low levels of another cool neurotransmitter called Dopamine.

Oh, and by the way, Serotonin (along with Dopamine) also affects your attention span and ability to resist instant gratification. So, if you want to be a super productive, self-improving new man, watch out for these Monoamines. Obviously, your level of positivity and general awesomeness will have a massive impact on your game, uh, I mean, how you interact with other humans. So, it's totally worth learning to sense your own Serotonin levels over time.

Now, let me let you in on a little secret. If you were a terrible person with no morals whatsoever, the easiest way to mess with your Serotonin levels would be to take some MDMA and observe how it affects you. But don't do that! Drugs are bad, kids. I mean, I'm only suggesting this hypothetical scenario for educational purposes. Instead, you can try taking 5-HTP daily for a week and then stopping for another week. Trust me, you'll gain such magical understanding of your brain's Serotonin response that I can't even put into words. Everyone is different, you know?

Oh, and don't forget to meditate for a whole 5 minutes every day, focusing solely on your 'serotonergic' mood. Are you content? Are you happy? Do you think the world is a lovely place? These questions are especially relevant in the mornings when you wake up feeling miserable. Yep, it's probably your messed up 5-HT at work. As you practice this mindfulness stuff and do some individual reading, you'll soon become a pro at spotting what affects your Serotonin mood. Like food, weather, and light levels. Mastering this biohack will allow you to maintain an über-positive mood all the time. It's basically a shortcut to happiness, but hey, it still takes a shit-ton of effort.

And guess what? You'll have some mind-blowing effect on other people once you learn to regulate your own 5-HT. They'll be drawn to you like moths to a flame, and if you combine this with high dopamine levels, you'll become the ultimate alpha male with an unshakeable biological frame. Plus, you'll gain the superpower of reading people's moods just by observing their body language, speech style, and posture. Serotonin is such a valuable little chemical, especially because it has something to do with sexual arousal and attraction. Seriously, it's like a real-life magical aphrodisiac. But don't worry, no one else knows about this secret power. They're all clueless fools.

So, let's see how all you crackheads react to this enlightening post. I have a feeling it's going to be quite polarizing. But hey, learning about your neurochemistry is just another way to add to your ever-expanding toolbox of psychological tricks.
