People wonder why their stim medication isn't working any longer. Believe me. I know how ironic it sounds when someone says you need to sleep to stay awake, but it's true. You can take all the stims you want, but after a while, you reach a point where you're basically a zombie, but you're just about functional.
Being sensible and getting a good sleep means that you get the benefit from your medication (I am talking about how I get the most from my ADHD medication and not encouraging anyone to abuse anything) on a consistent basis, rather than burning yourself out and wondering why it isn't working any longer.
I'm writing this post more to myself as a reminder that when I go without sleep, my Vyvanse isn't much better than coffee. But after a good sleep, it's almost miraculous. I just wish I could be disciplined enough to do this every night.
