Need DAC Recommendation for stereo setup with TV to improve sound quality

Hi guys,

I have an LG OLED CX, connected to my Devialet Phantom II via TOSLINK which is stereo paired to another Devialet Phantom II. I don't know a lot about DACs, but I have heard that may improve sound quality. Could someone recommend a DAC, and how I would use it/ whether it would actually improve quality?

I also have my Nvidia Shield connected to the TV, and normally the sound goes through HDMI, to the TOSLINK between TV and Phantom, would the DAC improve that, or would you need to connect the DAC directly from Nvidia Shield to Phantom?
