Help deciding on streamer

Post Body

Hi. Would love some advice on a streamer. My system is a Quad 909 power amp fed by a Quad CDP-2 CD player and digital preamp. Specs below. Currently I stream music out of Tidal from my iPhone to an Apple Airport which sends a signal via Toslink to the CDP-2. I’d like to not have the stream tying up my phone so want a streamer but don’t really need a DAC. It’s fine if the streamer has one but doesn’t seem much point blowing money on something that won’t be used. However I don’t what to stuff around with a Raspberry Pi or some app with a terrible UI.

The CDP-2 is getting pretty long in the tooth but Stereophile raved about the DAC when it came out so I figure if it ain’t broke…

Thanks! 🙏

CDP-2 specs:

CD player with variable (32 steps) and fixed analog outputs, six S/PDIF digital inputs (3 RCA coax, 75 ohm, 3 Toslink optical), digital output (Toslink optical only), and 2x upsampling D/A converter with claimed 24-bit maximum resolution and maximum sample rate of 192kHz. Disc compatibility: CD, CD-R Recordable CD (finalized and unfinalized). Maximum output level: 2.4V RMS (RCAs), 5.3V RMS, balanced (Quadlink). Frequency response: 20Hz–20kHz, 0dB/–0.5dB. Total harmonic distortion: <0.002% at 1kHz. Signal/noise ratio: >110dB, 24-bit; >95dB, 16-bit. Channel separation: >100dB at 1kHz.
